On the morning of 30th April 1789 George Washington took oath as the first president of the United States of America at the Federal Hall overlooking the wall street, the oath was ” I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of the president of the United States and will, to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States ” But the American Federation had nothing but a dozen of clerks, an army consisting of 672 officers and men, there was no existence of Navy.No leader of a revolution had been so pennyless through out the world before as Mr. Washington in 1789. As no federal judiciary were set up,there would be no way of enforcing any federal law.Though Washington was known as a richman but at that time he had to borrow $3000 for meeting pressing debt and the expenditure of his removal to New York.
However, he was the president of America for two term consisting of four years according to the constitution. In his two terms he was able to organize the govt of U.S.A to the full satisfaction of all. Washington was very modest as a man, his superiority lay in his character and not in genius and talents. He was hard working,he was absent from his duty as the president for only 181 days in his terms of 8 years. He was direct not adroit, stubborn rather than flexible, always slow to reach a decision because he was not a man of quick perception. His warm heart was always revealed by his many kindly acts to his dependents and sub-ordinates . Since the first oath taking as the president by George Washington as the first president of U.S.A in the year 1789, already 231 years passed away and in this long period of time 35 Presidents ( some of them took oath of office twice) including Mr Donald Trump who is going to conclude his first and probably last term on 20th January in this year 2021.
Historians in future will, undoubtedly, agree on one point, that Americans, never had the bad luck to have a President so non-political,self-centred quarrel some intolerably cantankerous as President Donald Trump.
On 6th January (2021) when U.S.Congress was preparing to certify Joe Biden as President elect, unruly supporters of U.S. President Trump gathered at the U.S capital building in Washington D.C, members of congress run for cover and when protesters tried to enter into the House chamber, Pro -Trump mob violently clashed with police and stormed the U.S. capital which is nothing but a dastardly assault on American democracy and many other values that make America great all over the world.
Donald Trump himself encouraged and agitated his supporters to overturn on wednesday the election result before a mob assembled at the capital. But Vice – President
Mike Pence and senate Republican Mitch McConnel rejected outright Trump’s demand for intervention. George W.Bush, ex president of United States condemned the incident who said,”This is how election results are disputed in a banana Republic – not our democratic Republic.”One of the most competent Senator of Republican Party Milt Romney said, ” what happened here today was an insurrection, incited by the president of the United States. ” The reaction to this unfortunate incident is serious,an increasing number of Republican leaders and senators are criticising President Trump, Long Trump’s allies, Vice President Mike Pence, senate Republican leader Mitch McConnel rejected Trump’s pleas for intervention.
From the very beginning of Trump’s Presidency, the usual greatness of United States began to decrease because of unwise comments and remarks he used to make all the time during his tenure as a president. While Ronald Reagan, was the president of America said,
” we have to move ahead, but we’re not going to leave anyone behind, I ask to you to trust that American spirit which knows no ethnic, religious, social, political or economic boundaries, the spirit that burned with zeal in the hearts of millions of immigrants from every corner of the earth who came here in search of freedom. ” Ronald Reagan also was the president of the United States from Republican party. What a valuable speech he made which was bound to make un-parallel unity among the Americans irrespective of race, religion and colour. American sovereignly lies in its diversity.
Through out – his life Mr.Trump was a businessman,he had nothing to do with politics. Naturally he could not realize how powerful is the democratic rhetoric of equality in America. Nobody in America ever risk saying even a better works for in equality. In America only professional specialization is accepted and any other kind of specialization is condemned. In America equality of opportunity means opportunity of education.
I like to conclude with two quotations one from Abraham Lincoln who was also president of The United States from Republican party, who was assassinated,”you can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time”.
Mahatma Gandhi Said,Stoning prophets and erecting churches to their memory afterward had been the way of the world through the ages.Today we worship christ but christ in the flesh we crucified.
